There was a decline in COVID cases for Butler County over the past week according to Department of Health data.
There were just shy of 600 cases over the last seven days—which is down by almost 200 cases compared to the week before.
Deaths though continue to rise, with another 12 added to the death toll since last Friday. There now have been 483 Butler County residents who have died due to COVID since last year.
Four more people have died locally at Butler Memorial Hospital this week as a result of serious COVID-19 symptoms.
The hospital reported one COVID-related death to the state on Tuesday.
The hospital reported two COVID-related deaths to the state on Wednesday.
The hospital reported one more COVID-related death to the state on Thursday.
According to the Butler Health System, as of Friday morning 48 patients were hospitalized at Butler Memorial Hospital with 11 of those in the ICU. This is an increase of four hospitalized compared to Monday with a decrease of one COVID patient in the ICU.
