The number of new COVID cases in Butler County continues to fall—although numbers are still relatively high.
According to Department of Health data, there were nearly 1,700 new cases over the past seven days. That’s down about 750 compared to last week.
The death toll continues to rise though with 14 additional deaths this week—bringing the countywide death toll to 666.
Meanwhile, local hospitalizations continue to drop. As of yesterday morning, Butler Memorial Hospital was treating 46 patients for the coronavirus, with three in the ICU. That’s down from 50 on Monday.
Statewide hospitalizations are down about 1,400 total from last Friday.
