With the coronavirus vaccine rolling out in Pennsylvania, health officials say that testing is still a vital part of the state’s COVID response.
Michael Huff is the director of testing for the state and he says it’s important to continue to get more tests available for residents.
“Our goal is to provide easy access to testing for the community,” Huff said. “Especially those populations who are vulnerable or at higher risk to increase safety or decreased exposure to those who may be symptomatic or those who may be asymptomatic.”
So far, Huff says the state has done 8.3 million COVID-19 tests.
