Cranberry Township is welcoming residents to experience a new creative space at the Cranberry Public Library.
After the 2019 Cranberry Township Community Chest Project of the Year added a Makerspace called “The Forge”, the library was awarded a $30,000 grant last September to support STEM learning.
Now, the library’s Maker in Residence Program is welcoming the first instructor with a goal of making the space more inviting and accessible. Information technology professional Josh “J” Riesen will spend the next six months leading a series of classes at the library using tools such as 3D printers and laser engravers.
The Forge Makerspace is a small workshop designed for collaboration and making items in a hands-on environment. Visit the Cranberry Library website for more information.
