A local municipality will receive federal funding through the state to accomplish water and sewer improvement projects.
The Commonwealth Financing Authority has approved more than $2 million in American Rescue Plan Act funds for Cranberry Township.
$1.75 million will be used to upgrade the solids handling portion of the Brush Creek Treatment Plant wastewater facility.
This project is expected to cost a total of $30 million but is also offset by $5 million in federal Community Project Funding received nearly one year ago. The design of this project is nearly complete.
Also, Cranberry will use over $250,000 to cover half of a water line project along Burke Road to create redundancy in the system in case of a line break.
