Residents are invited to maintain green space and protect the environment at a couple of events this week in Cranberry Township.
Cranberry will kick off a celebration of Earth Week on Monday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Jaycees Shelter at Community Park. In addition to remarks from Township officials, this event will also include 50 backyard habitat starter kits given away and a raffle of upcycled art projects created in the Cranberry Library Makerspace. Tickets for the raffle are available at the event for $2 cash.
Cranberry is also holding a rain barrel demonstration and workshop later this week. The one-hour class will be Wednesday at the Cranberry Public Library. Students from Haine Middle School will also be in attendance. Registration is limited to residents of Cranberry and Seven Fields. The cost of the class is $40, but it does include a rain barrel which each participate is able to install at home.
Visit the Cranberry Township Parks and Recreation Department website to register or for information about these programs.
