First responders and motorists in Cranberry Township will be a little safer on the roads thanks to new technology.
The Cranberry Township Volunteer Fire Company and Cranberry Township EMS have recently been able to equip their vehicles with a system called HAAS Alert.
This device sends digital alerts to drivers from emergency responders up to 30 seconds before they reach a road hazard and also allows crews to communicate with one another.
This technology is integrated with onboard mapping systems and reaches other drivers through apps like Waze and the Stellantis in-vehicle Emergency Vehicle Alert System in some newer vehicles.
