Cranberry Township Police are warning residents about ongoing online scams.
Police say that if you receive a pop-up message on your computer that says your computer has been hacked or your Amazon account is frozen, it is fake.
Police are also warning that scammers may target victims over the phone by saying their grandchild was involved in an accident or there is a warrant out for your arrest.
In these cases, the scammer may also request payment by gift card, bitcoin, or other electronic currency.
Police advise to hang up the phone and call 911.
