A portion of Route 228 East in Middlesex Township was closed for a couple hours Monday morning after a car left the road and hit a pole.
The crash happened at 8 a.m. in the 400 block of Glade Mill Road (Route 228 East- off Route 8) and brought down power lines. The road was shut down between Sandy Hill and Logan roads while West Penn Power crews responded.
At one point, as many as 150 power customers were without service. As of 5 p.m. a total of 78 residents remain without power with an estimated restoration time of 7 p.m. Monday.
One person was reportedly injured.
