Crews battled a fire overnight in Cranberry Township.
The fire broke out at a home on in the 1700 block of Garvin Road around 1 a.m.
As crews were heading to the scene, they could see smoke from Route 19. When they got to the two-story home, they found “heavy fire” and soon escalated it to a two-alarm fire.
Crews had to knock down the flames by going on the roof.
Everyone was able to safely escape the home. Multiple crews remained on scene for about three hours.
The damage is considered extensive.
Crews believe the fire may have started due to a grill on the back deck of the home; it is under investigation.
