A couple of medical helicopters were called out to two different crashes in the Butler area Wednesday afternoon.
The first crash happened just after 4 p.m. near the intersection of Dick Road and Route 422 in Franklin Township. A Life Flight helicopter was called to the scene as a result of a crash that occurred in the area of a house fire shortly after crews began arriving.
The second crash occurred shortly before 8 p.m. on Bonniebrook Road in Summit Township. Crews from Lick Hill and Herman were among those arriving to request that a helicopter land at the scene to fly an injured motorcyclist for treatment of unknown serious injuries.
Both roadways did have to be closed for a time while crews were working to assist the motorists and clear the scenes.
