Route 422 in Franklin Township has reopened after crews spent hours battling an overnight fire in Franklin Township.
The call came into the Butler County 911 Center around 2:30 a.m. for a garage fire in the 900 block of New Castle Road, which is Route 422 at J.R.’s Truck and Auto Sales.
When crews got on scene they saw flames coming from the roof the building. They soon escalated it to a three-alarm fire.
Multiple fire departments were called in the battle the blaze, which also led a portion of Route 422 to be shut down.
Heavy fire was still an issue around 4 a.m. according to dispatchers. It was brought under control, but smoke was still coming from the building hours later.
It’s not known what started the fire or if anyone was injured.
