One woman died in a crash yesterday in Jefferson Township.
The two-vehicle accident happened just before 4:30 p.m. on Route 356 at the intersection with Burtner Road.
State police say 92-year-old Owen Stepp of Sarver pulled out of Burtner Road in front of a vehicle driven by 50-year-old Thomas Paserba of Aspinwall.
Paserba tried to swerve out of the way, but collided with Stepp’s vehicle. Police say a passenger in Stepp’s car, 96-year-old Lillian Bachman of Butler, died as a result of her injuries.
Stepp was taken to a Pittsburgh hospital for his injuries; his current condition is not known.
A portion of Route 356 was closed for a time while crews cleared the scene.
