The Chicago Cubs shutout the Pittsburgh Pirates for the second consecutive game following a 7-0 win at Wrigley Field last night. The Pirates managed five hits in the game. Starting pitcher JT Brubaker struck out 10, but allowed six runs, four earned in his 5-2/3rds innings of work. The damage came in a Cubs five-run fourth inning, which began with a Rodolfo Castro throwing error.
The two teams complete their three-game series tonight at 7:40pm. Pre-game on WISR begins at 7:15pm. The Pirates are off Thursday, then host the St. Louis Cardinals for the weekend.
