A contest is currently underway to make pieces of artwork for the new Cultural District in Downtown Butler.
The Rotary Club has been taking the initiative in establishing the Cultural District, and they’re looking for artists to submit two-dimensional pieces.
“It could be a pencil drawing, a painting, photography, it could be any of the above that is two-dimensional,” County Commissioner and Rotary Club member Leslie Osche said. “It will then be digitally reproduced onto the 4×8 banners and hung in various places throughout this particular district.”
Cash prizes will be awarded to the four winning pieces of art. The deadline to submit is September 16th.
Any local artists are welcomed to submit work for the competition.
The official kickoff for the Cultural District will happen on October 8th in between 2-8 p.m.
“We want people to visit the various cultural assets and churches that are in the district,” Osche said.
