John Collins- Director of the Office of Medical Marijuana- says Thursday’s opening of the first dispensary in Butler is a major milestone for the state.
“For patients, this means they have another choice, another tool in their toolbox, to help alleviate their suffering,” Collins said.
Collins says today’s dispensary opening has been literally years in the making.
“This is a monumental moment for the people of Pennsylvania who have fought for years to have access to medical marijuana,” he said. “We can now begin to focus on operationalizing the other dispensary and grower locations to improve access.”
A total of 10 dispensaries and another 10 grower/processors have been approved to operate in Pennsylvania, so far.
