A teenager was seriously injured after being hit by vehicle Thursday afternoon in Butler Township.
The call came into the Butler County 911 Center just after 3:30 p.m. in the 100 block of Dutchtown Road near Sugar Creek Drive.
Crews from Butler Township were among those arriving on the scene to find to find an unconscious and unresponsive 15-year-old cyclist still on the road. A Life Flight helicopter was called to land at Butler Memorial Hospital to transport the cyclist to Allegheny General Hospital with the teenager in critical condition.
The driver of the vehicle 38-year-old Joshua Rivera of Butler fled from the scene. Rivera has been charged with aggravated assault by motor vehicle, reckless driving, and more.
Police are asking anyone who knows Rivera’s location to contact Butler Township police.
