Spring is right around the corner and as residents clean out closets or cupboards, Butler County’s District Attorney is encouraging residents to get rid of unwanted prescription drugse.
‘Medication Drop Boxes’ are located in many different facilities around the county including many local police departments and the Butler County Government Center Lobby.
According to Rich Goldinger, disposing of unwanted, unused, or unneeded medications through these boxes helps ensure the medicines are not abused by friends or family members who could have or develop issues with addiction. Flushing or disposing of medications in the garbage is not good for the environment.
The Medication Drop Box Program started in 2014.
