In the midst of two Butler County school districts dealing with lead and copper in their water, many may be wondering how safe the water is at their home?
A newly updated database is now online that details test results from 50,000 water authorities. It’s called the Environmental Working Group Tap Water Database.
The group shares data on all different sources of contamination, including chemicals that are improperly disposed of, animal waste, pesticides and substances that occur naturally in the soil.
The information is available at ewg.org/tapwater. You’re then asked to provide your zip code to see the data available in your area.
The database does not provide information on home wells.
