David “Dave” Maley

David “Dave” Maley, 72, of Herman passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Sunday, March 2, 2025. He was born in Kittanning on December 17, 1952, to the late Chalmer and Jean (Ray) Maley. Dave graduated from Karns City High School in 1970 and was first employed at Magnetics. In the 1970s Dave and his brother started their own business as Maley Brothers Roofing; in the 80s Dave started, owned, and operated Dave Maley Construction for over 35 years until his retirement. Dave was very active in the R.C. Men’s Club where he was on the board of directors for many years. He loved being outdoors and was an avid hunter. He hunted at camp in Pennsylvania, also in Wyoming, Colorado, and Canada. Dave lived for hunting and being with his family. He was known for being hardworking, giving and would help anyone. Dave was the best, most caring and loving father and husband. Dave was the beloved husband of Karen (MacFee) Maley since their marriage in 1978; father of Matthew, Samantha, and Denise Maley; brother of Dan (Sandy) Maley, P.J. (Russ) Pry, and Judy (Rufus) Lohmueller; he is also survived by his sister-in-law, Jenny Maley; and numerous nieces and nephews. Dave is forever missed by his large and loving family.
