David (Dave) Philip Stadler, age 76, of Butler, PA passed away of natural causes at Concordia Hospice on December 2, 2021, after a long illness. Born in Trenton, New Jersey on March 11th,1945 to David Philip and Myrtle (Bernhardt) Stadler, he attended Grove City College, where he studied theology and history. After college, Dave served as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army and was stationed in Korea during the Vietnam war. Dave was a jack-of-all-trades and served as the “foreman” of many a family home reno projects. His favorite professional role was as a counselor at the student center of Slippery Rock University and with Countermeasures. Dave was an avid fisherman who enjoyed teaching his sons and grandchildren to fish. They enjoyed many fishing trips to Ghost River Lodge in Western Ontario which became a special place for all. He also loved playing RISK with his children and grandchildren. David was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his sister Sandy (Richard) Walsh, his wife Virginia (McGregor) Stadler, sons David P. Stadler (Katie) of Lakewood, OH, Andrew E. Stadler (Karla) of Centennial, CO, and Michael J. Stadler (Beth) of Clarksburg, PA., three grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff and doctors at Butler Health System, Dr. William Dicuccio, and the friends and staff at Countermeasures for their professionalism, compassion, and support.
