David Lee Lawry, age 66, of Prospect, formerly of Munhall, passed away on Monday, June 28, 2021, following an illness.
Born July 2, 1954 in Grove City, he was the son of the late James F. Lawry Sr. and Anna (Rosko).
He grew up in Munhall, where he was in the first graduating class of Steel Valley High School in 1972. He was a former Jr Firefighter at Munhall Vol Fire Company #1. After high school, he then moved to Cleveland, OH, and recently has been a resident of Prospect for the last 8 years.
He was Catholic and attended St. Faustina’s Parish in Prospect.
David was a Senior Investment Specialist for Keller Williams Realty in New Castle.
He spent many years coaching his children’s sports teams and youth basketball.
David loved his grandchildren and enjoyed watching them play sports. He loved spending time at the family cottage at “The Rock” (Slippery Rock), and family vacations at the beach in the Outer Banks, NC. He was an avid reader, sports fan, and enjoyed Pipe Band competitions.
He is survived by his companion, who he enjoyed life with, Marlene Myford Murry of Prospect; his children Patricia (John) Clute of Olmsted Twp., OH, Kathleen Lawry of Brook Park, OH, Sean (Anna) Lawry of Brook Park, OH; three grandchildren Katie Clute, John Paul “JP” Clute, and Grace Lawry; his siblings Patricia Outrakis (Nicholas, deceased), and James F. Lawry, Jr. (Allyson, deceased) several nieces and nephews, Marlene’s sons Ben Murry and Douglas Murry both Pittsburgh.
Visitation will be on Thursday, July 1, 2021 from 3pm-7pm at the Raisley Funeral Home and Cremation Services, PC, 387 Main Street, Prospect.
Funeral Mass will be on Friday, July 2, 2021 at 11am in the St. Christopher at the Lake Catholic Church, 229 N Franklin Street, Prospect, with Rev. Adam M. Verona, officiating.
Interment will be in the Crown Hill Cemetery, Prospect.
