Officials with the state’s Department of Community and Economic Development are looking at new approaches for economic growth.
The DCED Acting Secretary Rick Siger says the state needs to be more competitive when it comes to recruiting and attracting new businesses.
“We need to do that in terms of the tools we have an use or tools we might need. We need to do an audit of the toolkit for how we attract and retain companies,” Siger said.
Siger specifically cited the need to focus on innovation as a primary driver to develop the business climate in Pennsylvania.
“We need think about how we market Pennsylvania to prospective businesses and tourists,” Siger added.
