Students at local high schools still have time to use problem-solving, creative, and strategic-thinking abilities to solve real-world problems.
Submissions for the seventh annual PennDOT Innovations Challenge will continue to be accepted through this Friday.
This year’s challenge is to develop a plan to replace an aging multi-lane roadway in order to reconnect previously separated neighborhoods and incorporate community needs such as bicycle and pedestrian traffic as well as new business development, smooth traffic flow, and cost.
Regional winners will be selected to go to Harrisburg and compete for the state championship and a $4,000 award to the first place team. Those interested in more information about this contest should visit PennDOT’s website for more details.
