A new piece of legislation gives families the option of allowing for a student to repeat a grade but the deadline to decide is quickly approaching.
Act 66 of 2021 was signed into law by Governor Tom Wolf last month and allows students who were enrolled last school year to make up for lost educational opportunities because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The act also allows for students with a disability who turned 21 before the beginning of the upcoming school year to attend school during 2021-22 to receive services outlined in their most recent IEP (Individualized Education Program).
Families interested in taking advantage of this opportunity must submit a notification form from the PA Department of Education website to their local school district before Thursday, July 15th.
