Two seats on Butler City Council will be decided by city residents during next week’s general election with three candidates on the ballot.
Of the two open seats on Butler City Council this year, one belongs to incumbent Republican Mike Walter, who is running for a second four year term. Walter currently serves as Director of Accounts and Finance with crafting a balanced budget as one of his main duties.
The other Republican candidate is a new face to Butler City Council. Travis Uhl is the owner and operator of J&J Technical Electric Contracting in the city, and has lived here with his family for over four years.
Lifelong resident of the City of Butler Bob Dandoy is running for a seat on Council as a Democrat. Dandoy has spent time as President and Board member of the Main Street revitalization organization Butler Downtown.
The second open seat on Council formerly belonged to Corey Roche who resigned in August before moving away, and is occupied through the end of the year by Fred Reese. Reese is not running to continue on Council and will not appear on the ballot. City residents can vote for up to two candidates since two seats are open.
