Antlerless deer licenses will go on sale next month but hunters should be aware of a higher cost as a result of increased transaction fees.
According to Butler County Treasurer Diane Marburger, the PA Game Commission has increased the fees for 2021-22 general hunting licenses by 97 cents resulting in a cost of $6.97 for an antlerless deer license.
Eligible landowners of 50 or more contiguous acres in Butler County can purchase a license from the County Treasurer’s Office on the first floor of the County Government Center before Friday, July 9th.
Non-landowning hunters seeking a regular doe license can submit their first of up to three applications by mail beginning on Monday, July 12th. Marburger also says that each hunter will qualify for at least three additional licenses once over-the-counter sales begin on September 13th. Applications received earlier than that or with checks for the wrong amount will be returned unprocessed.
