PennDOT is postponing a project that was expected to delay traffic on Route 228
A change in traffic lanes will now take place starting March 22nd at the intersections with Route 8 and Park Road.
PennDOT says drivers should plan for slowed traffic in the area as crews work to reset the barrier that is currently at the edge of the Route 228 eastbound shoulder onto the existing white line. This will extend the barrier into current turning lanes leaving one lane for left turns and another lane for travel through or right turns. Westbound will remain one lane.
The overall cost for this project is $26.5 million and it is expected to be completed in three years.
