Delores G. Sales, 73, of Lyndora, passed away Saturday, February 27, 2021 at Butler Memorial Hospital.
She was born February 27, 1948 in Butler, the daughter of the late Arthur Anderson and Anna Mae (Talifero) Anderson.
Delores graduated from Butler High School in 1966, and then from Jersey City School of Nursing. She started her nursing career at Butler Memorial Hospital and then retired from the Butler VA Medical Center after 29 years. After retirement she decided to go back to work part time for Personal Touch. She was a very dedicated a member of North Street Christian Church. Most people knew her by “Dee”, and she always seemed to know someone everywhere she went. She was a very giving person, and greatly enjoyed volunteering in the community. She was a volunteer at the VNA Hospice in Butler. Dee enjoyed Bingo and fishing.
She is survived by her daughter, Melissa (Umar Faruq) Sales of Holbrook, NY, and her granddaughter, Maelyn Lipka, of Holbrook, NY, who was her pride and joy. She is also survived by a sister, Carolyn Robertson of Boston, and a brother, Gerald Anderson of Lyndora. She is survived by her “2nd Mom”, Geraldine Glover Turner of McKinney, TX, as well as by several nieces and nephews.
Delores was preceded in death by an infant son, two sisters, Yvonne Cook, and Thelma Joyce Anderson, and also three brothers, Rodger Wynn, Clyde Anderson, and Gregory Anderson.
Burial and internment will be private. There will be a celebration of life in her honor at a later time.
