Delores I. “Dee Dee” Hilgar, 93, of Butler, Pennsylvania passed away on May 12, 2023, at the Concordia Lutheran Ministries.
She was born November 26, 1929, in Harmony Junction, Pennsylvania to the late Ray Jackson and the late Laura (Lutz) Jackson. Delores was raised by Mr. and Mrs. Charles and Velma Lutz.
Delores was a member of the First Baptist Church and a member of the First Baptist Missionary Group. She graduated from Butler High School in 1947. Delores enjoyed gardening, planting flowers, reading, and crocheting. She liked to take walks and enjoyed watching and feeding the birds.
Delores is survived by her five sons, Dale (Linda) Hilgar of Eau Claire, PA, Ray (Valerie) Hilgar of Chicora, PA, Keith Hilgar of Landrum, SC, Vernon Hilgar of Butler, PA, Mark Hilgar and Kathy Long of Butler, PA; daughter, Laura (Randall) Wyant of Rochester, NY; nine grandchildren, Leann Covert, Erin Wampler, Scott Hilgar, Jonathan Wyant, Cherith Shuboney, Emily Speck, Anna Boness, Christopher Hilgar, Dustin Hilgar; nineteen great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie L. Hilgar, who she married on June 2, 1948, and who passed away on February 18, 2010; and two granddaughters, Andrea Hilgar, and Sara Hilgar; one great granddaughter, Violet Hilgar; and two sisters.
Friends will be received Wednesday, May 17, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Thompson – Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street Butler, PA.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 18, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the Thompson – Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, PA, with Pastor David Maitland of First Baptist Church, and Pastor Brian Lott of New Testament Baptist Church and Chaplain of Concordia, officiating.
Burial will take place in the Butler County Memorial Park.
