With many eyes focused on Pennsylvania in the upcoming presidential election, recent data shows Democrats still hold a voter registration advantage over Republicans.
According to the Department of State, among the 8.6 million registered voters, there are 3.894 million Dems to 3.461 million GOP voters—which is a nearly five percent advantages.
However, experts believe that independents will hold major sway in this year’s election. And there’s enough to close the margin, with over 964,000 voters registered as independents, and another 344,000 that have a variety of other party affiliations.
