NBA Playoffs:
–The Denver Nuggets eliminated the Los Angeles Lakers in four games and have reached the NBA championship series for the first time in team history. Denver defeated the Lakers 113-111 last night in Game 4 played in Los Angeles. Lebron James scored 40 points in the loss for the Lakers. He had a career-best 31 points in the opening half. At a post-game news conference, James announced it was time for the 38-year old to consider retirement. Nikola Jokic led the Nuggets with 30 points, 14 rebounds and 13 assists for his eighth triple-double of the playoffs. He broke the record for triple-doubles in a single post-season set by Wilt Chamberlain in 1967.
–The Miami Heat host the Boston Celtics with a chance to meet Denver in the league title series. Tip-off in their Game 4 tonight is 8:30pm.
Stanley Cup Playoffs:
–The Florida Panthers defeated the Carolina Hurricanes 1-0 last night and are one win away from the Stanley Cup final. The Panthers lead the Eastern Conference Final Series 3-0.
–Vegas is in Dallas for Game 3 of the Western Final tonight. The Golden Knights lead the series 2-0.
