State officials say more electric charging stations are now across Pennsylvania thanks to a new initiative.
It’s called Driving PA Forward and it’s supported by the Department of Environmental Protection.
According to the department’s Secretary Patrick McDonnell, there are now 1,000 new charging stations in Pennsylvania. He hopes that’ll make people more enticed to purchase an electric vehicle.
“It’s important for the shopping public to see charging stations and give them that kind of confident that as they are out and about, they can charge their car,” McDonnell said.
I-79 in Butler County is considered a “charging corridor” where there is easy access to stations. The DEP also considers the portion of the Turnpike in the county a “charging corridor.”
