The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is beginning work on a couple of projects on Monday that will impact Butler County motorists.
First, crews will be engaged on an improvement project on Route 422 in Summit Township. Lane and shoulder restrictions will be put in place from the Route 68 Jefferson Street Exit to the intersection of Bonniebrook Road and 422.
PennDOT plans to reconstruct existing inlets and address rumble strips in order to allow for patching and overlay as well as replacement of barriers, updates to drainage, and preservation of guiderails. This $18 million project is expected to be completed by October.
Motorists in the Cranberry Township area should anticipate construction resuming on PennDOT’s Freedom Road and Turnpike Bridge Project.
