The weather for Christmas Eve looks like great flying weather for Santa Claus, and the state’s Department of Agriculture says the reindeer look good to go as well.
The reindeer received a certificate of inspection from Pennsylvania’s top veterinarian with clearance granted for stops around the world including in all 67 counties across the state.
Secretary Russell Redding spoke earlier this week in Hershey in front of Santa’s nine reindeer, who are housed at the Hershey Park Christmas Candy Lane.
“These reindeer have been cleared. They are in good health and in good spirits. We are ready for Christmas Eve and the reindeer are ready to fly around the Commonwealth and around the world,” Redding said. “We thank our animal health colleagues in Pennsylvania and at the North Pole of Alaska for the clearance they have given the reindeer. They’re important work brings holiday cheer to Pennsylvanians, and of course around the world.”
After making deliveries, the reindeer will return to the park where they will stay through January 1st.
