Diane M. Ross, 82, formerly of Butler, passed away Saturday, Oct. 12, 2024, at Embassy of Saxonburg.
Born May 27, 1942, in Butler, she was a daughter of the late John and Josephine Lucas Oshurak.
Diane was a 1960 graduate of Butler High School.
She was employed as a claims adjuster for Nationwide Insurance. She also previously worked at II-VI, Inc. and the cafeteria of Broad Street School.
She was a member of All Saints Parish, St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church.
She enjoyed country music dancing, camping, and playing Scrabble and cards.
She is survived by one son, Robert Ross, Jr., and his wife, Deann, of New Kensington, Pa.; two sisters, Bonnie Leitem (George), of Butler, and Debbie Anthony (Vaughn), of Worthington; one brother, Charles Oshurak, of Mars; one grandson, Alexander Ross, of Murrysville, Pa.; three nieces, Shelby Grosclaude (Brian), of Butler, Vivienne Oshurak, of Mars, and Madeline Oshurak, of Mars; one great-nephew, Tyler Leitem (Stacy), of Butler; and one great-great-nephew, Finn Leitem, of Butler.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a nephew, Timothy Leitem.
The family extends its sincere thanks to the staff of Embassy of Saxonburg, the nurses on the sixth floor of Butler Memorial Hospital, and Heritage Hospice for their compassionate care and support.
Friends will be received at the Martin Funeral Home, 429 Center Ave., Butler, on Wednesday from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10 a.m. at All Saints Parish, St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, 432 Center Ave., Butler, with Rev. John J. Baver officiating.
Burial will take place in St. Michael’s Cemetery.
