Diane Norton Mackrell, age 61, or Portersville passed away early Friday morning, July 14, 2017, at the VNA Inpatient Hospice, Butler, following an illness.
Born March 4, 1956 in Ellwood City she was the daughter of Sarah Welsh Galaher and James Norton, Sr.
She worked as nuclear medicine technologist from 1976 to 1984 at the Beaver Medical Center and from 1984 to 2015 at the Ellwood City Hospital.
Diane was a faithful member in the Portersville-Prospect Rotary club, where she served as President for 3 different terms, was a Paul Harris Fellow, and volunteered on many committees. She enjoyed life to the fullest and loved boating, gardening, traveling, camping, and belonged to the Blue Bell Camping Association.
She is survived by her loving husband David Mackrell, who she married on May 21, 1988 in Portersville, her mother Sarah Galaher of Ellwood City, father James Norton, Sr of Fombell, brother Jim Norton, Jr of Chewton, PA, beloved dog Ellie, 3 step sisters Barbara Lopez of Harlansburg, Lisa (Drew) Boots of Fombell, Crissy (Robert) Nadzam of Freedom, step brother Mark (Mary Jo) Brown, Mother in law Donna Mackrell of Chicora, two brother in laws Kenneth (Diana) Mackrell of Portersville, Les (Cynthia) Mackrell of Chicora, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sister Melissa Hall and her step mother Marlene Norton.
A private memorial service is being planned by the family.

Cremation services were entrusted to the Edward L Raisley Funeral Home, 387 Main Street, Prospect.
