Hunters could soon be able to carry electronic licenses with them into the woods in place of certain paper licenses.
At a recent meeting, the Pennsylvania Board of Game Commissioners gave preliminary approval to begin the process of allowing eLicenses as a permitted substitute for hunters and trappers to carry in the field.
Harvest tags would continue to be issued in physical form and no electronic versions of documents would be authorized for use. However if this measure is approved, hunters and trappers buying licenses online through the licensing system HuntFishPA would be given access to their eLicense. There would be no additional fee for the eLicense.
This proposal will appear again on the agenda for the Board’s next meeting in April for a final vote.
