A new study shows that distracted driving citations are down in Pennsylvania year-over-year.
Last year, there was six percent drop in citations compared to 2020.
It’s an even bigger drop, however, when looking over a five year span. In 2017, authorities issued just over 5,000 citations for distracted driving compared to last year when there was just 2,163.
Officials say people in the 20s and 30s make up the majority of cases.
Distracted driving includes wearing headphones while driving ,texting while driving, or using another handheld device.
