As Slippery Rock, Knoch, A-C Valley, and Freeport students return to class today, more are getting ready to begin a new year tomorrow.
Thursday is the first day of school for students in the Moniteau, Mars, and Seneca Valley School Districts.
The Moniteau Marching Band and Drill and Dance team is hosting their annual pie festival at 7 p.m. Thursday at the stadium behind Moniteau High School. Admission is free but refreshment tickets are $4.
Due to the road work taking place on Route 228, new traffic patterns are in place and afternoon pick-up procedures are changing for Mars students at the Primary Center and Elementary School.
Officials in Cranberry Township are asking motorists to be aware of Seneca Valley students as part of the “Slow Down Campaign” through September 5th. The township will be placing yard signs and mobile radar speed signs throughout various neighborhoods. Police will also be increasing patrols in key areas. The campaign ramps up this time of year especially with kids waiting at the bus stop.
