Dolores Bender, 86, of Lyndora, PA, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2025 at Concordia of Cabot.
Born May 3, 1938, in Harwick, PA, she was the daughter of the late William Koprivnikar and Catherine Grondwalski Koprivnikar.
She graduated from Springdale High School and was active in the school newspaper, the Tri-Hi-Y Club, which focused on developing Christian character through community involvement, and Sub-Deb, a club for young women not yet debutants who supported the Symphony through volunteering and fundraising.
Dolores was a member of All Saints Parish—St. Conrad Roman Catholic Church. She had a passion for music and previously was a member of the Tri-County Music Association, Treasurer of the Butler Two Steppers Club, and President of the Women’s Auxiliary. She played the bass guitar and would often be seen listening and dancing to Latin romance music. She also enjoyed building puzzles, fishing, and rooting for the Pirates, and had a special love for animals.
Surviving are her children Richard (Robin) Bargo of Butler; Brenda Kuntz of Virginia Beach, VA, and Jodi (Steve) Shivak of Mars; her grandchildren Rikki Buccieri, Roman Bargo, Ryan Bargo, Max Kuntz, Sophie Kuntz, Sarah Shivak and Alex Shivak; her great-grandchildren Landon Hartman, Matti Buccieri, Niesa Buccieri, Corbin Bargo, Evlynn Bargo, and Jack Bargo.
In addition to her parents, Dolores was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Bender, and her dog, Toby.
Friends and family of Dolores Bender will be received from 6:00 -8:00 p.m. on Monday, March 17, 2025 at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham Street, Butler. A Blessing Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at the Funeral Home followed by an Interment at Butler County Memorial Park.
