Dolores K. “Dee” Bacher, age 93, of Butler, formerly of North Washington Street, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2023.
Born June 5, 1930, in East Butler, she was a daughter of the late George and Cleola Osche Marcus.
Dee was a homemaker. She was also a most supportive partner and helpmate to her husband, the late Clarence R. “Curly” “C.R” Bacher, in the establishment and successful operation of the family-owned businesses: Butler Ambulance Service, Butler Assist Coach, Butler Audio, Bacher and Associates Accounting, Bacher Electronics, Sedan Service, and Bacher Automotive Service.
She was a member of All Saints Parish, Saint Paul Roman Catholic Church.
She was an avid bowler, and she was formerly a volunteer in the cafeteria of Saint Paul School.
She and her beloved husband loved traveling to Williamsburg, Va., and Lancaster, Pa.
Dee is survived by two sons, Dennis R. Bacher, of Cabot, and Robin L. Bacher, of Mars; four grandchildren, David Bacher and his wife, Feather, Alicia Haas and her husband, Jesse, Amy Vernon and her husband, Cory, and Nathan Bacher and his wife, Elizabeth; two step-grandchildren, Kelly Kimsey and Kayla Gugino; nine great-grandchildren, Jacob Bacher, Jayson Haas, Evan Haas, Jonah Bacher, Grayson Bacher, Joseph Vernon, Keegan Bacher, Mya Vernon, and Emma Vernon; one sister, Donna Christy, of East Butler; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence R. “Curly” “C.R.” Bacher, whom she married July 9, 1949, and who passed away Oct. 27, 2017; her daughter-in-law, Penny Kay Bacher; one step-granddaughter, Megan Dietz; one brother, Richard Marcus; and one sister, Joanne Marcus.
Friends will be received in the Martin Funeral Home, Inc., 429 Center Ave., Butler, on Friday from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 a.m. from All Saints Parish, Saint Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St., Butler, with the Rev. Kevin C. Fazio officiating.
Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to Butler Catholic School, 515 E. Locust St., Butler, PA 16001.
