Dolores S. Sipos, 96, formerly of Butler, passed away, Saturday March 8, 2025 in Austin Texas.
She was born January 22, 1929 in Rankin, PA, a daughter of the late Thomas and Thelma Joseph. She was the wife of the late Jospeh Sipos, to whom she was married for 58 years, until his passing on July 23, 2010.
Dolores graduated from High School, had attended Penn State, worked the VA Medical Center and was the 1st female agent for the IRS in Western Pennsylvania, retiring from the Butler office after 11 years. She was a member of St. Anthony Antiochian Orthodox Church, where she was a board member, treasurer and choir director. She was an artist and iconographer with dozens of icons hung at St. Anthony’s Church.
Surviving are her children: Barbara Janusheske and her husband Mike, Linda Beverley, Lawrence Sipos and his wife Janice.
Grandchildren: Jennifer Bisang and her husband Kevin, Anthony Weber and his wife Trina, Theresa Miles, Lindsey Sipos, Megan Sipos and her husband Eric Botts, Luke Sipos.
Great grandchildren: Samanatha Weber and Marrisa Weber.
She was preceded in death by her son David Sipos and her brother, Donald Joseph.
Friends will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 East Cunningham Street, Butler, from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm on Sunday. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, at 10:00 am, at St. Anthony Antiochian Orthodox Church, 400 S. 6th Avenue in Butler. Entombment will follow in the Chapel of Devotion Mausoleum of Butler County Memorial Park.
Trisagion Prayers of Mercy for the Departed will be held at 4:30 pm Sunday, at the Funeral Home.
