With sad hearts, the family of Don Yasinsky regret to announce his passing on May 19, 2024.
Don was a native to Butler; he grew up the only son of the late Michael and Sophie (Kowal) Yasinsky of Highfield.
A graduate of Penn State University with a bachelor’s degree in English, Don went on to receive his Masters degree in Professional and Technical writing from Carnegie Mellon University. He had a lengthy and accomplished career as a technical writer culminating in a Publications Specialist Senior position at General Dynamics Mission Systems for the last 17 years.
Don married wife Laura in 1997 and began building their family shortly thereafter.
Don’s children, Emily and Alexander, were the love of his life; he could not have been prouder of them for their accomplishments and subsequent graduations from Allegheny College and Chatham University.
Don leaves behind his wife Laura Lee (Garris), daughter Emily Patrice, son Alexander Michael, his beloved Golden Retriever, Lily, and adopted Bichon, Louie.
The family wishes for remembrances to be made through donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Butler County Humane Society, in lieu of flowers.
There will be no public viewing with the option of a celebration of life at a later date.
Arrangements by the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 East Cunningham Street, Butler.
