If you would like to help the city residents affected by this week’s widespread flooding, there are several ways you can do so.
First United Methodist Church on East North Street in Butler is accepting donations of industrial strength garbage bags, bleach, detergent and personal hygiene products. Donors can bring items to the back of the church until 6 p.m. Friday, from 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday, they’re also looking at online giving services so you’re able to contribute on a website to the cause.
Coordinator Lisa Gill says the outpouring of support from the community has been overwhelming.
“It’s been wonderful,” Gill said Friday.
Anyone who was affected by the flood and needs items can visit the church during those times to pick up items.
If you would like to make a monetary donation, you can call 211 to get a list of accepting organizations.
