The City of Butler will receive help to pay for new equipment in the form of a large donation.
The city was recently sent a letter from The French and Belgian Club and the Italian Society of Butler stating that $10,000 will be gifted to help with the purchase of a new truck for use by the city streets department.
Council approved the purchase of the 2019 Ford F-550 truck from Baierl Ford in Zelienople in the amount of just over $50,000. The remainder of the money owed for the truck will come from the Liquid Fuels Tax Fund.
The truck will need the addition of a dump body, hydraulics, and a snow plow, which will cost more and delay the date that the truck will be able to be used by city employees.
