Donna E. “Betty” Neff, 84, of Butler, passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at the Butler Memorial Hospital, after several years of declining health.
She was born March 5, 1940 in Chicora, a daughter of the late Frank and Mary Agnes (Black) Knoll.
A homemaker who loved gardening, her most favorite thing was her rhubarb patch! We often went to greenhouses and nurseries looking for plants and flowers to add to her flower beds.
She loved to can the produce from her garden. She also loved to bake. She truly wanted to help others. For many years she helped her neighbors sharing the baked goods she made or just helping if they needed assistance. She loved to walk and would stop and visit people along the way.
She had a strong Catholic faith and was a long-time member of St. John’s Roman Catholic Church in Coylesville, PA. She helped in the Parish with cleaning, funeral dinners, and tending the flower garden in the grotto on the Parish grounds for several years.
Surviving is her daughter, Trudy E. Neff.

Sisters-in-law, Patricia Knoll, Antoinette Knoll, Anna Marie Knoll, Bridget Neff, Jean Neff, Jeannie Neff, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas E. Neff, whom she married July 11, 1964, he passed away February 3, 2008; an infant brother Francis; siblings Agnes Knoll Pfaff, Mary Geibel, Rita Barnhart, Monica Glynn, Bernadette Huefner, John Knoll, Thomas Knoll, her twin brother Donald “Ed” Knoll, and Fr, Charles Knoll, OFM Cap., also numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Friends will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 East Cunningham Street, Butler, from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm on Sunday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, at 10:00 am, at St. John Roman Catholic Church in Coylesville. Interment will be in St. John’s Parish Cemetery.
