Doris A. Latshaw, 83, of Emlenton, Scrubgrass Twp., went to be with the Lord late Sunday evening, August 6, 2017 at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Doris was born in Franklin on November 13, 1933. She was the daughter of the late Myrl and Vera McCandless Say.
Mrs. Latshaw was a graduate of Emlenton High School and had served for many years as the Scrubgrass Twp. tax collector. She was an active member of the Scrubgrass Stone Church in Emlenton, as well as the Scrubgrass Senior Center. She enjoyed the company of her cat, “Boots”, and gardening. Doris most especially enjoyed helping others and the company of her five grandchildren.
Doris was married on December 1, 1962 in Clintonville to James E. Latshaw. Mr. Latshaw preceded her in death on September 19, 2000.
She is survived by two children, James E. “Jamie” Latshaw II and his wife, Becky, of North Royalton, OH and a daughter, Dawn de Lima, of Melbourne, Australia; five grandchildren, Connor and Kenzie Latshaw, Kayla Rabb and Abby and Isabelle de Lima; a sister, M. Jean Oliphant of Kennerdell, a sister-in-law, Martha Say of Sewickley, as well as a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parent and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Harry L. Say, as well as a number of cousins, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Friends will be received at the Scrubgrass Stone Church, 258 Stone Church Rd., Emlenton, from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Saturday. A funeral service will follow from the church at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Dennis Barger, church pastor, and the Rev. James Oliphant, Doris’ nephew, officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
