Our Dear Mother, Dorothy Beblo, 94, of Butler, passed away peacefully February 3, 2025, at the Butler Memorial Hospital after a recent heart attack.
She was born October 12, 1930, a daughter of the late Ferdinand and Anne (Kovacik) Hortert.
She was a graduate of Butler High School class of 1948 and always enjoyed her 48 luncheons thru the years. She was married to the love of her life George Beblo for 56 years on Valentines Day in 1953, he passed away May 4, 2009.
Dorothy worked in the office for WT Grant Co., Jaffes and Castle Rubber. She was a devout Catholic belonging to All Saints Parish, St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church. She had a very strong faith and taught that to her children as well. She volunteered for many years at the Butler Memorial Hospital and St. Andrews Ladies Guild. In her younger days she thoroughly enjoyed dancing and roller skating, but her true love was cooking for family and friends, always followed by dessert, our favorites were raisin cookies, apple sheet pie and nut horns to name a few.
George and Dorothy enjoyed gathering with various groups of their friends, traveling on cruises and spending time in Vegas, also she loved those Steelers, however mostly she enjoyed spending time with her 5 grandchildren.
She is survived by her 3 children, Dennis (Cynthia) Beblo of Butler, Gail (William) Gold of Austin, TX and David Beblo of Cincinnati, OH.
5 grandchildren: Matthew (Lauren) Gold, Anne Gold, George, Henry and David Beblo, also the newest addition and highlight for mom was meeting her 1st great grandchild Makenzie, oh how her face lit up.
Dorothy was one of nine children, also surviving is her sister and best friend, Julie Lacuesta and 2 sisters-in-law, Lynn Hortert and Helen Hortert, also 2 other friends, Sylvia Hinchberger and Pauline Liebler.
