A local business will pay to repair and move the Butler City owned clock currently located at the front of the former PNC Bank building on Main Street.
Council discussed the proposal by the law firm of Dillon, McCandless, King, Coulter, and Graham to pay about $7,000 to repair and move the clock to a location near the firm’s office on West Cunningham Street.
The city would not be charged any money and would continue to own and maintain the clock.
The city purchased and installed the clock about 15 years ago using money from a grant but it has been damaged a number of times at the current Main Street location as a result of traffic accidents.
